A 15-minute walk away, Batch has one of the best backyards on the east side and a robust beer selection. Meat eaters: try their sausage and cheese kolache! Non-meat eaters: their potato and hashbrown kolache is amaaaazing.

They serve great coffee/ espresso. You can swing by for a cup to go or hang out in their spacious and well-designed space. Their wifi makes it a perfect place to catch up on some work but it's also very open making it a great place to meet up with colleagues or friends. They have a large patio out back that is super-friendly. You'll see furry friends and families with kiddos regularly hanging out.

OK, I'm cheating a bit on this one; it's about a mile away so while I walk to it, I know that's not everybody's cup of tea, especially in the summer. But they feature wonderful savory and sweet kolaches and for vegetarians they use a phenomenal vegan sausage in some kolaches so you won't be missing out.
