Summit Coffee (Outpost) on the Davidson campus is a nice place for coffee, beer, breakfast / lunch fare and to work (wireless). Varying hours and often closed when college is not open so check before you visit. summitcoffee.com

Work inside or outside. Free wifi. Downstairs can get distracting but can also be a great environment to work and not feel secluded. The upstairs can get loud but is less distracting. Outside is always a great option if the weather is nice.
