Quirky, yes; lively, certainly; 'Not as good as it used to be', maybe, but with two cinemas, four butchers, a fabulous market, a great live music scene, the river Dart flowing through it, and a million places for coffee, who cares!

Only 2 miles from Parliament Cottage is the bustling market town of Totnes . Well worth a visit for sight seeing , shopping, cafes, restaurants and pubs.

Situated on the river Dart. You would be able to catch a boat from the Steamer Quay in Totnes and sail to Dartmouth - very beautiful scenery whether by day or night. Has a market in the square every Saturday and Sunday - parking in town at back of the market and signed. Good Food Sunday 17 July 2022.

Totnes has something for everyone. Plenty of independent shops, art galleries and cafes. Restaurants for evenings out and it’s own brewery and historic cinema. Lots of history with a medieval guildhall, a castle, steam railway and steamer quay. Trips down the river to Dartmouth and a short way to Darlington either by car or bike. Mainline station to London.
