After crossing the Candlagan bridge follow the creek past the playground and head up a windy track to the Mossy Point headland where you can walk around and get stunning views of the ocean and maybe even see a whale during the migration season. Continue around the headland and you will come to an anchor and the views looking over the town of Tomakin there is a stairway leading down to the Tomaga river which offers a boat ramp, kayak and paddle board hire, as well as resident giant eagle rays swimming in the shallow waters.

Whales can been seen from the Mossy Point headland and Seacliff beach house- from May - November so look out into the distance of Burrewarra Point as humpback whales can often be spotted cruising or breaching near the coast line. See www.wildaboutwhales.com.au for recent sightings. Scan the waters when you are near the ocean and you are likely to be rewarded with a sighting. Often the spout of water is the first signals as whale surfacing.
