Go to The Pantry Shop across the street. Jill has the most amazing soaps you will ever see. The Bear Fat soap is the best. You can wash your hair and body with it and it leaves a nice moisturizing "fat" on it. No kidding. This is a real inside scoop. Buy one, you will never change. Try their sodas too. Never had anything like them. Also the woodworking shop across the street. Albert Litchfield is a local Master.

West River Community Project has a wonderful cafe and thrift store located on Vermont 30 in West Townshend, VT. Friday night top your own pizzas that are fired in a wood fueled oven are a social highlight complemented with live local music. May - October Fridays nights host a local farmers market with a variety of local products and prepared foods.

This is the location of the Friday evening farmers' market 4-7pm. Get homemade pizza, buy local wares, and listen to music. This is where the locals go.

During the summer, Friday is the day to visit this country store as there is a farmers market set up on the lawn from 4-7 pm along with music and make your own pizza with the outside ovens, and while you wait you can enjoy a glass of wine or beer. There are also other food vendors there as well...some great Thai food if you are so inclined!
