Wine tasting? About a 45 minute drive out of the city takes you to this luscious landscape. They have an outdoor summer music series - and you can get a glass of wine and wander around taking in the sights of the James River and the historic Shirley Plantation.

This vineyard is right on the James River and is about a 40 minute drive away. Its a great day trip - It's absolutely beautiful and the wine selection is excellent. They offer tastings for $10 per person. They also have special events and live music, so make sure to check out their website and calendar.
