It's the largest zoo in the world and the animals have lots of room to roam. The visitors are kind of kept on trails and facilities and the animals have natural habitat as much as possible. You have to visit this wonderful attraction. There is a lot of walking to get from exhibit to exhibit, but they do have scooters available and a tram that shortens the walk. Gift shops are great also.

We always carry a couple dark towels to lay over our open window so the drool and food pellets do not go down into our doors and window tracks. You will have to clean your car afterwards, but it is so very worth it. We've taken tons of folks and everyone enjoys it from the young to the seniors. Just don't feed the zebras, and hold onto those buckets tightly or the antelopes will jerk them away from you. Tons of fun and not very costly.

They have a very friendly staff and it's very safe here. Young, teens, and those in good shape love this place. We've probably taken 150 folks here and all have enjoyed it. The landings are on platforms built around trees. Very cool place.

Being a wilderness, it provides great trails for hiking that are moderatly difficult. It's quiet and peaceful. The Uwharrie Mountains are some of the oldest around and are weathered down into round-tops that are not real steep like our western mountains. Trails are well-marked, wide and easy to follow. View them in All Trails before you go.

The cinema is inside the mall. Lots of stores to choose from. We like Dunhams sporting, and Belks well. Not a lot of food choices, but it's nice when it's raining you have lots of shops in a warm dry environment.
