One of the precious gems of Pasadena. You have seen it for years on The Rose Parade, it’s the building behind the cameras broadcasting the parade. This jewel is a must see for art museums. You can take the metro link Gold Line to Pasadena, memorial park and it’s a 3 or 4 block walk.
Great museum close by focusing on a wide variety of styles. The collection includes paintings, sculptures, etc.
Manageable sized museum with amazing art of all periods. If you love Degas, Van Gogh, Monet, etc. it is worth a visit!

“The Pasadena Playhouse played a major part in the budding careers of many actors and entertainers, from Dustin Hoffman to Ariana Grande. Starting in 1917, the playhouse hosted classes and performances for several decades, growing an illustrious alumni list in the process. Though it brought the esteem of the stage to LA, away from the still revered West End in London or New York’s Broadway, the theater closed from 1969-85. Since its revival, the playhouse hasn’t skipped a beat, putting on ambitious productions and recently hosting a raucous 100th anniversary block party. Even if you don’t have time for a show, you can easily schedule a specialized tour of California’s official state theater.”

“In popular culture, Caltech is known as the place where most of "The Big Bang Theory" characters work. Caltech, short for California Institute of Technology, is in fact a prestigious research university widely recognized for the studies of science and engineering. The university's faculty and students have received 39 Nobel Prizes.”

“A must-see for any architecture buff, particularly those smitten with Arts & Crafts / California Craftsman, etc. This house was built for the Gamble millionaires (of Proctor & Gamble) by the renowned MIT-trained Greene & Greene. The garage was used as Doc's garage in Back to the Future. The exterior of the home is stunning but the home's interior is well worth the tour with a docent (call ahead). Greene & Greene were known for their fastidious attention to detail. That comes through in this museum-quality home that's been immaculately preserved. ”
