Crystal Cove State Park is one of Orange County’s largest remaining examples of open space and natural seashore. Its backcountry consists of 2,400 undeveloped acres of land, and over 15 total miles of trails. Trails are open to hiking, biking, and equestrian use, with a variety of difficulties from quick and easy to long and strenuous. There is no limit on things to do outside at Crystal Cove State Park. Its coastal portion also features a 2.5-mile paved trail that runs along the bluff tops, perfect for outdoor fun, easy walks, and bike riding. This is also the only trail in our park in which leashed dogs are allowed. Docent and staff-led activities are scheduled throughout the year in our parks, such as full-moon hikes and bird walks. Dates for these events can be found on the park’s calendar. crystalcovestatepark.org

Plenty of room to put down a blanket and not be anywhere near other people. Best way to get here is to park at the Los Trancos parking lot on east side of PCH (which is a little ways north of Crystal Cove shopping center with Trader Joe's & Javier's restaurant) and walk through the tunnel which goes under PCH to the beach. Protip: buy a drink at the Beachcomber, get your parking validated, save $15

Beach with free parking if you go to the Beachcomber Cafe. There are extensive trails up into the mountains too if you want to work up a sweat before jumping into the clear blue waters.
Exceptional place to explore, at the north end of town. Park across from the park and take the shuttle over ($1.00). Hike, eat at Beachcomber or walk the beautiful beach. It is so, so pretty there!
State Beach The tide pools are friendly and the beach is gorgeous. If you come when there are high tides, you may miss out on all the sea creatures.
If you park in the state run parking lot there is a free shuttle which takes you to the historic area in case you can’t walk. The beachcomber restaurant validates parking for 3 hours with a $15 purchase. Tour the historic cottages and see one of the best beaches.
Crystal Cove State Park is another one of the county’s gems. It’s several miles of beach and a couple hundred thousand acres of land. It all adds up to something you have to see to believe. There are so many great activities to be enjoyed out on and under the water at Crystal Cove State Park. You can take a kayak or surfboard out or even go scuba diving. The park’s website tracks tide levels, helping you make sure that your fun doesn’t take a bad turn. If you prefer to stay closer to the shore, there are still all kinds of activities. Some of the most fun things to do in Orange County can be found on dry land at Crystal Cove State Park. You can go for a hike, bike ride, or even camp out. Beautiful coastline and iconic beach cottages. Good for hiking and beach privacy.
One of my all-time favorite places to spend a beautiful day and the drive is gorgeous and the walk from parking lot is fun and adventurous and the restaurant on the sand is amazing and not too pricey! Save your receipt and you get free parking!
Simply beautiful! Spend the day at the beach or to hike with a view on the ocean. Entrance fee is $15 but parking can be validated if you go to the restaurant on the beach the Beachcomber.
Crystal Cove is a gorgeous state park between Corona del Mar and Laguna Beach that offers way more than its 18 miles of hiking trails. At low tide, the fantastical world of tide pools comes to life. While visitors must be extremely careful not to disturb the creatures that call them home, the four tide pool viewing areas at Crystal Cove State Park might reveal hermit crabs, starfish, anemones or even octopuses. Past visitors called the well-maintained park and its beautiful beaches a wonderful way to relax for a day.
