Super lovely museum with a coffee shop The Museum of Philately of Oaxaca is a museographic enclosure of Oaxaca City, dedicated to the diffusion of philately and collecting. It was founded on July 9th, 1998, in the Historic Center of the city of Oaxaca at the initiative of the Alfredo Harp Helú Foundation, who donated its first collection from the philatelic collection of Alfredo Harp Helú. It has the Library José Lorenzo Cossío y Cossío, specialized in philately.

As of a temporary exhibition organized in 1996 by the Institute of Graphic Arts in Oaxaca about Numismatics and Philately of Oaxaca, the importance of the subject became clear and the positive response among the public gave rise to the creation of the Museum of Philately of Oaxaca. A space dedicated to this discipline did not exist and the philanthropic interest of Alfredo Harp Helú, added to the fact that he had a complete stamp collection, commemorative envelopes and philatelic sheets from Mexico, among other materials that he donated to the museum to start the permanent exhibition.

Though it may sound a bit dull, this stamp museum is super interesting, with a rotating offering of exhibitions, and a charming cafe with patio.

This is our Stamp Museum. It's a great architectural space and it's stamp collections are not only impressive but fascinating. If you're walking up Calle Reforma, it's a must-see.
