My favourite area of Venice. Young, vibrant, often quieter and more Venitian. Just get lost and visit the church of La Madonna dell’Orto and the church of Sant’Alvise. Hop from a bar to the next one in Fondamenta della Misericordia. Lunch at Rioba, wines and cicchetti at Vino Vero.

The jewish ghetto is not far from home. Is importante in the historical of venice, Is the most ancient ghetto in Europe. Here there is stil a jewish community and you can est great kosher sweets and there is also a testaurant gam gam that combines kosher and venetian food. Besides food the neighboorhood is beautiful and you can visit the ancient bank banco rosso and see the tallest buildings in town.

This is the oldest Jewish Ghetto of the world, created in 1516 because of the Jews of Venice wanted a safe area for them only.

Cannaregio is Venice's second largest district after Castello. Most tourists do not go beyond “ Strada Nuova”, the busy shopping street between the railway station and Rialto Bridge. Get lost in the Ghetto, the world’s oldest Jewish neighbourhood with its synagogues and Jewish museum. “Fondamenta della Misericordia” is offering many nice restaurants with a terrace at the water side, ideal on hot summer evenings. The north side of Cannaregio has the most picturesque canals of the city and you will hardly meet any tourists. Why not visiting the beautiful Madonna dell'Orto church (painting in casa Nina’s stairway), with Tintoretto’s tomb and some of his masterpieces.
