Mt Evans is a quick day trip where Colorado visitors can check "summit a fourteener" off their list. This mountain allows you to drive almost to the peak with a short hike to the top. Echo lake at the base is a scenic destination as well.

Drive to the top (almost) Mt. Evans and conquer a 14er. Great for the views and for those not accustom to Colorado's altitude (Beware altitude sickness and drink plenty of water; even sitting in the car you can get sick). Have a confident driver (Or for about $20 there are often college students making their summer money that will drive you down). 1 hour 30 mins from the Carriage House
