OK so this is not exactly in our neighborhood but 10 min away and one of our favorites in LA! Really unique modern interpretation of Filipino food in a very unpretentious, hospitable space in a funky Chinatown strip mall. The people who run this spot are so nice and the food will blow you away. They were named a 2018 Food & Wine Restaurant of the Year.

If you can, order the limited-availability pork shank with garlic rice, do it. If you can't snag that, order the pan de sal French toast, smothered with whipped coconut cream and topped with grated cured egg yolk.
