Point Smythe is an awesome place for a walk. Many backpackers have gone missing here. The area is rife with drop bears. Never go after dark. Have a treasure hunt. Find abandoned back packs, hiking boots, cameras, tents, swedish flags. It's fun for all the family. "mum, i found a boot... and its still got a foot in it!" nah. i'm just messing with you. there's no drop bears. it's safe as. its an awesome walk out to the point. once you get there, there's water on three sides and a huge peninsula of sand. beautiful.
