This is an old school type Chinese restaurant and while it is not, in my opinion, the best Chinese spot in LA it is the closest (just around the corner). It also has a full bar.

The museum sits on a large campus that is nice for walking and taking photos (there is a well-known installation of city lights out front and it's an Instagram favorite). Check the website for current exhibitions. Spring - Fall there is also a free outdoor jazz concert every Friday evening from 6-8pm; Latin jazz on Saturdays; and a free classical concert on Sundays.

This beautiful, air-conditioned library next to Beverly Hills City Hall is a lovely spot to work from your laptop or to read. There is free wi-fi and an attached cafe for snacks and coffee.

Keep in mind, as in all of LA, there is usually a homeless man outside who may be begging for money. I wouldn't be too concerned but best to ignore them.

Stunning views of the city (catch sunset if you can) and wonderful science information. But make sure to buy a ticket for the Planetarium Show where you'll go on a beautiful adventure in a dark theatre; it is a unique highlight of this venue and not to be missed!
