Beautiful gardens, great for kids, nice trails. Parking is the only expense. If you walk in, it's free. Walk in on the shut in trail just off the Blue Ridge Parkway exit ramp next to the main gate.

A wonderful hidden gem, close by! I love to have brunch there, but they are great for any meal. Closed on Sundays.

All their tacos are fantastic and they have a nice outdoor eating area. The plantain tortillas are my favorite. One taco might be enough for a meal, but if you're hungry you may want two.

This is one of my favorite places in town. You can sip wine or coffee amid walls of books. It has such a lovely atmosphere, I highly recommend getting a pre-dinner drink here. If you like any of the old books, you can buy them too.

Great sunset, rooftop bar with all the style! You might want to make a reservation, they have limited space. It's on top of the Double Tree Hilton. Ask them to validate your parking before you go.
