For authentic Mexican street tacos, it doesn't get better than El Gordo. My favorites are the adobada, carne asada, and lengua. Their ordering system is "interesting" to say the least--you need to line up each time for getting a different meat item. So it is better to go in a group so that each person can line up for one type of orders.

For authentic northern Chinese dumpling and noodle dishes, you will be surprised to find this gem at the heart of Hillcrest only a mile from our property. I think they even make their own noodles. Their price is also very reasonable.

For extraordinary desserts, you really need to visit Extraordinary Desserts. But be forewarned for a long ordering line there, especially during the after dinners hours post 9 p.m. I love to enjoy their cakes with a cup of hot fruity tea.

There are a number of really interesting restaurants, brewery, ice-cream, and coffee places right around our immediate neighborhood along India street (1.3 miles away). If you are not sure what kind of cuisine you want to have yet, then having a stroll down India street should help you settle your decision.

Sightseeing
For a bird's eye view of San Diego. This lighthouse at the hill top of Point Loma is a must-see. It is operated by the National Park Service, so you do need to purchase a pass to enter.

A wet suit might be required depending on the water temperature.
