If you're looking for a mountain drive, this is a great destination with beautiful views. It's approximately a 2 hour drive each way from our house so probably an all day event for you. To potentially avoid rush hour traffic, go before 7:00 am and come back after 6:00 pm.

About an hour drive away, take I-70 to Clear Creek County exit 218. It's a moderate mountain hike; When you get to the trail head, to the right is a more serpentine path, to the left is a steep road leading to the natural trail. Make sure to take PLENTY of water and sunscreen!!
