This is the most convenient bus stop. To go downtown, just take any bus here. It should say "PLAZA DEL VALLE". You can take it to the end to visit Oaxaca's malls and multiplex cinemas (Cinepolis).

Don't miss the 17th-c. San Felipe church next to the Palacio Municipal, a little gem. The courtyard (atrio) holds a traditional Tianguis (market) a few times per week. Fresh and inexpensive produce!

An relic from the days when Oaxaca was little more than a sleepy provincial town, this somewhat outdated hotel still was a nice pool and great breakfast buffet, in case you don't want to go far.

Parks & Nature

The mountain of San Felipe del Agua, as the name suggests, has provided water to the city since Colonial times. It remains a secluded and well-preserved forest, managed by the local community of San Felipe, and offering casual walks, day-long hikes and is a popular destination for mountain biking. It's always been safe, but some land disputes have surfaced in the past few years and the trails are occasionally closed to the public. Double-check before going.
