HIKE
56 MIN - This hike is one of our favorites. To get to the trailhead you will need to take an off road truck trail to climb half way up Palomar Mountain. Park at the trailhead and then hike just over 4 miles down into the valley where you will have a great deal of solitude and a good chance to find water running in the creek/river.

12 MIN - This hiking area is our go to recommendation for guests because it is close, has easy parking, and lets you hike as long and as difficult as you want. Wander around the foothills for an easy stroll, or take Oak Grove Trail for a megahike all the way to the High Point Fire Lookout.

25 MIN - There are quite a few spots that you can connect with the PCT in the area, but highly recommend heading to the Pacific Crest Trail access in Warner Springs, CA. You can find it on most online maps. This is one of the only hikes in the area where you have a decent chance to be near a running stream. Once you park, find the trail and head north to walk along Agua Caliente Creek for an easy hike for the first 2 miles, and more challenging elevation after that.

42 MIN - The only lake in the area that allows for swimming. The lake we visit most in the area is Lake Hemet. Its a beautiful drive up into the mountains to get there, and its the closest lake for us to drop in our kayaks or rent a boat. If you go to Lake Hemet, you should continue on to Idyllwild for the day since you will be so close.
