Curate is one of the most famous Asheville restaurants and is amazing (if you can get a reservation), but the lesser known Zambra is also an excellent choice for tapas. The restaurant feels a little hidden on a side street and has a romantic atmosphere, great for a special occasion dinner.

If you’re feeling like a night in with some takeout, only 5 minutes away from The Perch is one of our favorite spots, Siam Thai. Their pad thai and curries are great and generously portioned, and the fresh roll appetizer is truly a treat.

About a 5 minute drive from The Perch, you’ll be sure to enjoy the short loop trail featuring boardwalks and a diversity of habitat types supporting a great diversity of native birds. The sanctuary is free to visit, but if you can drop a few dollars in the donation box at the entrance to support ongoing improvements and maintenance.
