Fast, quick and convenient to Base Camp. This is definitely a drive through option at 2 am place because it is open 24 hours. A local favorite, no frills, just, " need some rolled tacos" kind of place.

This is run by a group of people who live and work in a communal society. Their food is healthy, delicious but you better have time to wait... nobody is in a hurry. They keep late hours too. A must visit if you have time.

Donuts should not be this decadent. Local stop here on date night. It is an excursion and not your corner donut shop. Carlsbad Village is a great place to hang out and you should start your day here.

Museums and more. The carousel is beautiful. Don't miss it and if you re down in that area eat at Hash House a Go Go but go early and be very hungry. It is Martha Stewards favorite place to eat.

It is an hour-is drive away, but just about everyone here in north county San Diego has no problem doing this as a day trip. Heck..you are this close. Go see Mickey.

The train station is one mile from Basecamp.
Take the train west all the way to the Oceanside. Hang out there or hop on another one to explore more coastal cities from San Diego to Los Angeles. It also stops in Anaheim not too far from Disney.

Pack a light jacket for summer and fall nights and a heavier one for winter and spring.

The best thing about Basecamp.
You can get to anywhere from Base Camp. You can watch the sunset from the ocean, watch the elephants at the zoo or the whales at sea world. We are just a drive away from the mountains and Disneyland. If you like beer, we are a hub for local small breweries. The possibilities are endless.
