Montford is a very popular historic neighborhood, just seconds from the heartbeat of downtown Asheville. Just one mile to UNCA and downtown. Known for its Victorian era and numerous Arts and Crafts homes. Incorporated in 1893, few neighborhoods express the rich eclectic architectural heritage and vitality of Asheville as Montford does. Montford was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 and designated a local historic district in 1981. 300 acres of historic homes, tree lined sidewalks, and parks. This charming Asheville neighborhood has withstood the test of time, once home to Thomas Wolfe and F. Scott Fitzgerald; now a vibrant community with homes, boutique shoppes, bed and breakfast establishments and restaurants.

Be Bear Aware
We do have a mama & 4 cubs in the neighborhood. There is a good chance you may see them, possibly from the bedroom window! Below are a few tips if you encounter bears:
*Make noise to avoid surprising a bear. *Never approach a bear or other wild animal.
*Mama bears are very protective of their cubs.
*Make loud noises to scare them away. *Keep the car locked and free of food.
I do hope you get to see them...from a SAFE distance!
