Absolutely beautiful. You can rent kayaks and canoes from the cabana at rumbling bald for $25 then use their less crowded beach area to play and swim. You can eat at the Lake House Restaurant or Point of View and be overlooking the lake. You can go to lake lure beach with a couple of water slides and funny bicycle boat kinda things, not sure what to call them but they're funny. Lake Lure is where the Movie Dirty Dancing was filmed

we just found this hike recently and love it. we enjoyed the watery areas so much we honestly didn't make it very far up the trail they're looking forward to exploring deeper and deeper over time.
