Since its inception, this outdoor, cherry blossom-lined mall has brimmed with shops and eateries—don't leave without sampling a few street snacks. Join the constant line at the Mitsuru Café’s sidewalk window for a taste of imagawayki (freshly griddled red bean cakes) or freshly made mochi across the way at Mikawaya. After filling up on sweet treats, head out for a day of shopping alongside the iconic yagura (tower) and wood-accented buildings inspired by architecture common in rural villages in Japan.

Celebrity restaurants were invented and perfected in LA. The best ones are cramped, rowdy spaces where very famous people like to eat and pretend to lead normal lives for a few martini-drenched hours. You get the feeling that anything could happen at any time. Maybe a TV star will frisbee-toss his fedora across the dining room, or an older lady at the bar with a pink boa will wink at you. But what makes these celebrity restaurants truly special is the camaraderie inside them. No one will blink if you stand up and grab the fedora out of the air and blow a kiss back to the lady at the bar. Craig’s in West Hollywood is one of the most celebrity-packed restaurants in Los Angeles. But unlike the ones where it feels like everyone’s at the same party, Craig’s has created an atmosphere where there are really only two things to do - be a celebrity or stare at one. Walking into Craig’s is not at all what you would expect from a restaurant where the Kardashians fight for Thursday night reservations with the Carters. The sterile, dimly-lit room has a vague NYC-in-the-’50s aesthetic that feels both forced and tacky. There’s a bar where you’ll find two flat-screen TVs inexplicably playing Sportscenter. The booths are filled, but there’s an eerie silence in the air, as if everyone’s waiting for their ex-wife’s lawyer to walk in the door. And there’s so much space between each booth, you feel like you’re eating in your own little cubicle. Craig’s feels more like a celebrity funeral than a celebrity restaurant - and the food tastes like it came from one too.

Saddle Ranch Chop House was founded in September 1999. Saddle Ranch Chop House is a destination restaurant where guests stay long after their plates have been cleared to enjoy a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience with friends and family. Our concept is “Rock Meets Western”, which comes to life in every aspect of the construction, décor and operation of these unique restaurants. The rustic, ranch-style buildings are constructed of wood and stone, and decorated with western props and memorabilia, merging the feel of an Aspen ski lodge with the style of an old Western saloon, complete with faux balconies and saloon girls. Both Saddle Ranch locations have a large outdoor patio with stone campfire pits where guests can roast their own s’mores or enjoy a glass of wine by the fire. Inside each Saddle Ranch is a large, oval-shaped bar in the center of the dining room and, of course, our signature mechanical bull providing endless entertainment to diners. Serving up home-style cooking and down-home hospitality, our staff will make your group feel like you are dining at a close friend’s table. The first Saddle Ranch Chop House opened its doors on the Sunset Strip in September 1999, to rave reviews, tons of press, and hoards of people lining up to enjoy the delicious Saddle Ranch cuisine and ride the only mechanical bull in Los Angeles. From the second it opened, the Saddle Ranch concept was a huge success and a favorite of Hollywood. Television shows, books and magazines began developing story lines around the restaurant almost immediately. Saddle Ranch and its infamous mechanical bull have been featured on countless shows including “Sex and the City,” “Desperate Housewives,” “American Idol,” “Six Feet Under,” “VH1’s Rock of Love” and numerous more.

IT ALL STARTED ON MELROSE PLACE… ...on a brisk morning in January 2013. We had watched the ascension of “Third Wave” coffee shops but found them only centered around coffee and not much else. So we decided to flip the script and focus on what matters to us most – customer experience. With the opening of every new Alfred, whether in Los Angeles or Austin or Tokyo, our mission is one and the same: for every person to walk out of our cafes as thrilled with their experience as they are with their drink.

BEETLE HOUSE is a year round celebration of Halloween with an artistic and thematic atmosphere inspired by horror culture, magic, and the artistic, literary and cinematic works of Tim Burton, Alfred Hitchcock, Bram Stoker, Washington Irving, Edgar Allen Poe and many more. In short, we are kind of like an adult Halloween party with a Burtonesque feel, curated by Alfred Hitchcock, with a 90s goth band on stage and everyone is wearing Weird costumes.:) We are a safe place where every goth, punk, freak, weirdo, artist, and visitor is welcomed and celebrated. Beetle House was created by Zach Neil and opened as a pop up restaurant in New York City in April of 2016. Due to its demand and success after three years, Beetle House become permanent in New York City. Hollywood California opened in May of 2017 and has now celebrated two years and moved from its pop up location to a permanent home at 1714 North Las Palomas Avenue. The New York location is a very small intimate experience suited for up to 45 people. Los Angeles is a large spectacle suited for 500 people. Both locations are very different experiences while folding true to the same concept and offering guests a truly unique and macabre experience.

Our Story: About the Owners Urth Caffé began as Jilla and Shallom Berkman's dream over 30 years ago. In 1989, they met a passionate coffee farmer named Jorge from a farm in Peru producing organic, heirloom coffee. The Berkmans were intrigued by Jorge's mission. They discovered many destructive practices were used in coffee production that made it one of the most chemically treated food commodities in the world. Heirloom coffee trees are very rare and have never been genetically modified. The Berkmans decided to become pioneers in health-conscious coffee.

With locations all over the South Bay and even Miami, El Pollo Inka is a casual Peruvian chain with excellent food. Anything involving their rotisserie chicken is a going to be good, but we’re partial to the lomo saltado. Prepare for crowds during the lunch rush at their original location in Lawndale, where it’s almost always a party.

King’s Hawaiian Bakery doesn’t just make the grocery store rolls you’ve been buying for cookouts since you were a kid. They’ve also got a restaurant in Torrance with pretty forgettable food. But the restaurant isn’t why you’re here - the bakery up front serves a huge variety of excellent mostly Hawaiian pastries. The almond stars are good, and the malasadas are the biggest, fluffiest donut holes you’ll ever eat. You’ll get them to go, but probably spend a few minutes on the patio eating one by yourself before you take them back to the office.

Staples Center has been said to be “the world’s most successful arena,” which hosts many, if not all, the major Los Angeles sporting events. It is the home to the LA Lakers, LA Clippers, LA Kings and LA Sparks. Not only does it host basketball and hockey games, it also hosts huge musical performances and televised entertainment events. When people think about Los Angeles, it is hard not to associate it with the Staples Center. A subdivision of the Staples Center is LA Live, which includes a movie theater, bars, concert theaters, restaurants, hotels and ballrooms. LA Live is also home to the ESPN broadcast offices where, if lucky, those into sports can attend a taping of ESPN’s SportsNation show.

Known as “The Greatest Stadium in the World”, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, a living memorial to all who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War I, has been a civic treasure for generations of Angelenos. The legacy of events and individuals hosted in nine-plus-decades reads like no other: the only venue to host two Summer Olympics (Xth Olympiad in 1932, XXIIIrd Olympiad in 1984) and soon a third (XXXIVth Olympiad in 2028); home to college football’s USC Trojans since 1923 and the UCLA Bruins (1928-1981); professional football’s Los Angeles Rams (1946-1979 and 2016-2019), Raiders (1982-1994) and Chargers (1960); hosting three NFL Championships and two Super Bowls; home to the Los Angeles Dodgers (1958-1960) and the 1959 World Series; appearances by U.S. Presidents Franklin D Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Ronald Reagan; and international dignitaries such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Cesar Chavez, Pope John Paul II, the Dalai Lama, and Nelson Mandela. From Mick Jagger to the Harlem Globetrotters, the Grateful Dead to Billy Graham, Evel Knievel to Pele, the Memorial Coliseum, named a National and California Historic Landmark in 1984, has been the stage for the unbelievable, the unforgettable, the iconic, and the best in human endeavor and achievement.

During normal business hours, most days of the week, you can drive into Dodger’s Stadium, and you can visit the company store. From there, you can actually walk out into the upper deck, eat lunch, and look out over the beautiful stadium. I’m not a huge baseball fan myself, but there’s just something cool about being in Dodger’s Stadium with no one else around.

Angels Flight—which you may recognize from La La Land—is literally the little funicular that could: The block-long railway has weathered mechanical problems, extended closures and relocation to keep pulling passengers up Bunker Hill over a century after its initial opening. The two, tiered cars that traverse its rails offer a view of the Historic Core below, as well as an amusingly bumpy ride. You can board Angels Flight from either Hill Street or Olive Street, but we suggest the former lest you end up hoofing it back up Fourth Street. Tip: Use your TAP card for a half-price fare.

Recommendation number three is OUE SkySpace, which is in the US Bank Tower. This unique Los Angeles attraction has a glass slide, where you slide from the 70th floor to the 69th floor, all completely in glass.
