Most of Lorne can be reached on foot or a 5 minute drive.
Lorne has a long and flat beachfront area where the main shopping precinct is located. Back from the main street the township stretches upward so some of the streets are quite steep, but none are too long. You can capture a great view from almost any position in Lorne no matter where you are due to its unique layout.

Its highly recommended to have a car available if you want to get out and explore the surrounding areas of the Otways and Great Ocean Road. There are lots of amazing day trips from Lorne due to its central location giving it great access to both different directions along the Ocean Road and inland to the Otway ranges.
