Our favourite local walks
The Lighthouse loop around Amphitrite Point (Wild Pacific trail). This easy walk is a must-do for all visitors, it is suitable for all the family. It’s a 45 min walk if you don’t stop – but you will. There are countless viewpoints and photo opportunities. Allow 90 minutes for a slow ramble and lots of time gazing out at the ocean from the stunning views from benches along the way!

Florencia Bay. This crescent shaped beach is ALWAYS quiet and is our absolute favourite. Likely not as busy as some of the others due to the steep wooden staircase that leads from the trail to the beach…also many people seem to not have heard of it. If mobility issues make that not suitable – then Wickaninnish Beach is very close by and has easier access.

Florencia Bay
Florencia Bay. This crescent shaped beach is ALWAYS quiet and is our absolute favourite. Likely not as busy as some of the others due to the steep wooden staircase that leads from the trail to the beach…also many people seem to not have heard of it. If mobility issues make that not suitable – then Wickaninnish Beach is very close by and has easier access.
Sunset views
If the weather is good, I’d recommend being back at the condo for an evening BBQ and to watch sunset....we get amazing views from the deck :) For another great option drive 30 minutes to Mackenzie Beach
There will be lots of others there enjoying the same views, but the beach is big enough that it doesn’t feel crowded. Don’t forget your camera!

Howlers, 1992 Peninsula Road. This very casual restaurant is popular with both locals and visitors. The food is made fresh to order and it gets BUSY so don’t go if you are impatient or too hungry. It can take a while to be seated and get your meal; but the laid back vibe and hearty home cooked food is worth the wait! The bowling alley, pinball machines, arcade games and pool tables add to the fun 😊

It can take a while to be seated and get your meal; but the laid back vibe and hearty home cooked food is worth the wait! We think the best lunch spot when we’re out hiking or exploring is ‘Surfside Grill’ (@Pacific sands resort) Food truck with great outdoor seating area and direct access down to Cox’s Bay beach.

Our favourite restaurant with a view is Long Beach Lodge resort’s Great Room. Likely need reservations, but this restaurant has the best beach views so that you can watch the waves, dog walkers and surfers while you eat!

Our favourite refined dining restaurant is Pluvio, an award winning restaurant with creative Canadian cuisine. Reservations are essential for this small restaurant that will make a big impression on anyone who appreciates fine dining. A must-do for anyone celebrating a special occasion.

The upper level of the old church has been converted in a brewery offering seasonal taps and small plates. Very casual, very Ucluelet! Our *actual* favourite place for a drink is just here on the deck at the condo, but the Brewing Company is a great alternative!
