Food scene
We have everything in downtown Hollywood. If you’re looking for an area to check out restaurants in person, we’d recommend the Sunset Strip or Melrose Avenue. We’ll list a few here that are walking distance or good for deliveries.

DON’T judge this by the name! It really should be different. Fat Sals is a locals favorite for subs! It does have sandwiches like the “Fat Bastard” but if you read the menu in full, there’s something for everyone. It’s literally around the corner (2-3 minute walk) and open late.

This is our favorite place. Really small French restaurant. Not the best for families or groups, but awesome for special occasions. It’s a 10-15 minute walk or 3-4 mins in an Uber.

This is super close. 1 min walk away over on Highland. The best place nearby for weekend brunch. If you’re looking to spot celebrities on a night off, this is probably our best recommendation. This is really hard to describe now that I’m trying to for the first time. It’s about a 10 minute drive up the Hollywood Hills. It’s perched on top of Yamashiro hill, overlooking LA. The view, the food, the service… all incredible. It’s a little pricy, but DEFINITELY worth the trip - just for the view if nothing else.

This is by far the most popular eatery in the area - be prepared for a wait. It’s located on Melrose Avenue which is a ‘hipster’ area. Lots of really cool shops all around the cafe, so you won’t have any trouble putting down time waiting for your table!

Kreation Juice Bar is very LA! They’ve locations all over LA and just opened this one around the corner from us. All the neighbors are extremely happy about this addition. Their juices are amazing. HIGHLY recommend, especially if you’re returning and saw the “coming soon” sign that was up for over a year!
