Gîte Alpage La Chaux

Morgins – La Chaux – Foilleuse – Morgins This hike from Morgins takes you to the Gîte d'alpage La Chaux for a break where you can enjoy a superb view of the Dents du Midi and the Vaud Alps. From the bottom of the Foilleuse chairlift, go up along the Kuhstall chalet and behind it, take the wide path on your left which climbs slightly. A little further on, leave the wide path and turn right towards Madzé along a steep path in the forest. At the cross in the clearing continue to climb straight on. In Madzé, turn right on the small path “raccourci Foilleuse” on the first part of the forest. At the chalet, leave the marked footpath and go down the asphalted road towards the La Chaux chairlift to reach the Gîte d’alpage La Chaux. After your break, go back to the left of the gîte for a few meters on the road to take the small path in the grass that goes up to the top of the Foilleuse chairlift where you can enjoy a last break on the terrace of the Restaurant Là-Ò. To go back down on foot, go to the right of the arrival of the chairlift. We recommend you not to take the first path noted Morgins (which goes down under the chairlift and crosses the bike tracks) but to continue to go down gently along the ridge. The path will go through the forest to join your route up to Madzé and then back down to Morgins. Morgins – Madzé – La Chaux: 1h30 (ascent) La Chaux-sommet de la Foilleuse: 20 min (ascent) then, at your choice for the descent: – on foot: Foilleuse – Morgins: 1 hour (descent) – with the Foilleuse chairlift
