The master bedroom has a king bed and en suite bathroom; the second bedroom has a queen, and the third bedroom has twin beds (which can convert to a king). There is also a living room (with two futons), dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen.

The island of Ambergris Caye, “La Isla Bonita”, is a popular tourist destination. You can get here from the mainland either via an 15 minute flight or a 90 minute boat trip.

San Pedro, the only town on the island, has retained its charm while handling the growing number of visitors. Sunset Beach Resort is located 2.5 miles/4 km south of the town core, which means you are away from the crowds yet still within easy reach of everything.

Town is not far away when you want to go in for some live music, shopping, restaurants, etc. But there are things close by too; here are a few things within walking distance of Sunset Beach:

--Suya Tour operator (1 minute walk)
--Marin’s, a small grocery store (2 minute walk)
--A couple of nice restaurants (4-10 minute walk)
--Beach Bar & Grill (15 minute walk; breakfast, lunch, dinner, live music, outdoor bowling)

The Belize Barrier Reef, the longest in the western hemisphere, is just 1/2 mile (1 km) off shore. Sit on the beach or your veranda and you can see the waves crashing over it! The water is warm and crystal clear--ideal for scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing.

It's also easy to take a day trip to the mainland to visit Maya sites such as Altun Ha and Lamanai; or a trip to observe some of the 500 species of birds found in Belize and/or catch a glimpse of monkeys, manatees and crocodiles in the wild!

I've lived most of my life in the U.S. (where I am from) but have also lived for a couple of months to up to two years in different countries: Germany, Spain, Australia, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, & Belize. Since 2011 I've been living a somewhat nomadic lifestyle while exploring, working & volunteering in new & old places in the Americas and Europe. It's a great way to keep learning!

In my travels I stumbled upon the opportunity to do something that I love -- helping vacation rental owners help people like you with their dream vacations on Ambergris Caye, Belize!

I also have a condo in Cartagena, Colombia; if you're looking for a 30+ night stay (to volunteer; learn Spanish, salsa dancing, or scuba diving; work remotely with a Caribbean view; escape the winter...) let me know!
