Get ready for an immersive tasting menu as you get to experience the real Panama - from the gritty to the most Insta-gramable, and everything in between. Our day starts in the historic Casco Viejo neighborhood at a trendy rooftop where everyone in the group will get to know each other. I’ll give you the quickest history lesson on Panama City and how it’s changed throughout its development before we start our adventure. We will then walk a few blocks to one of the most luxurious hotels in the neighborhood to try a street food delicacy gone gourmet. Next, we’ll head to Santa Ana, the most vibrant part of the city where locals still live. We will visit my friend’s chocolate shop where you’ll get to try some unique treats, take photos in front of colorful street art, and walk down Panama City's only pedestrian avenue to buy fresh ingredients for our mojito-making workshop later on. We'll also pass through one of the most affordable artisan markets. From here, we are going to ride the underground metro to the city center to explore the laid-back Via Argentina neighborhood. While here, we’ll be eating at an old-school restaurant to try classic Panamanian food with a twist. For our last stop, we are GOING UP to a rooftop bar for a mojito-making workshop where you’ll get to make your own cocktail while watching the sun go down over the city and try fresh ceviche.

Behind the Goethals Monument, you will see the Panama Canal Administration Building, a landmark of the Panamanian history built in 1914. Our next stop is at the Panama Canal Miraflores Locks Visitor Center, where you may see the ships while they pass through the Canal. You will learn about its history, operation and recent expansion. After the tour, you will be driven back to the meeting point. IMPORTANT: The Canal Visitor Center in Panama City is going through renovations until 2024.

There, we will have fruits and lunch while the nocó (chief) share with us about their way of life inside a traditional huts without walls to allow air circulation. This time is complemented by a performance of their traditional music and dance. Finally, we will go back to the port and then rest in the car while you enjoy the way back to your accomodation in Panama City. Something to note: The trail is in the jungle (as is) so this experience might be challenging o not suitable for people with reduced mobility however I had people with knee surgeries completing the hike so we can do it together!

✨ Welcome to Panama ✨
After the successful and top rated experience ''Visit, understand and TASTE Panama'' (https://www.airbnb.com/experiences/825532) and many requests to open yet another walking tour in the city, I decided to add it in my offer. Without its basic history, it is not possible to understand Latin America. But this tour is not a basic history one, it's about stories you won't be able to find in tour guides. Walking through the streets of Casco Viejo I will explain and show you all the unique things you can see or try in Panama. You will learn Panamanian customs and habits, hear about local culture and their way of life. Welcome to Panama! *If you would like to hear the same story and you would like to complement it with Panama´s local products like a cup of coffee, handmade chocolates and a glass of artisanal rum, I also have an option for you: airbnb.com/experiences/825532 *Due to weather conditions, the experience can be extended

At Nomé we want to share with you our passion for chocolate, show you its process, how we enhance local cacao and turn it into pieces of art that represent and taste like Panama. In this experience with us you will be able to feel the rich aromas, fruity notes and unmatched texture of the chocolate that we prepare with dedication and love in our factory in Casco Antiguo, Panama City. During your visit, you will be able to enjoy the following things: • You will learn about the cacao process from when it is harvested on the farms until it arrives at our factory. • We will teach you the process from “bean to bar” where you will see the cacao in its different stages until it becomes chocolate. • You can create your own chocolate bar to take home and add different local ingredients offered by the producers of Panama. • Finally you will taste bonbons from our collection that we have chosen for you, accompanied by a drink to create an excellent harmony. • At the end with this experience, we want you to learn more about the cacao of Panama, taste a good chocolate and share this memory on your trip with your loved ones and friends. Spend a unique day with us by sailing the Panamanian Caribbean coast. We have more than 15 years experience and we're happy to share our knowledge with you while sailing to beautiful tropical beaches, which are only accessible via sea. Pick-up is at 7am at your accommodation in Panama City, and we'll drive almost 2 hours to Portobelo, which is a historic port built by the Spanish in 1597. Once at the dock, we'll get to the Catamaran by speedboat. After a short briefing, we'll navigate to our first stop: Blues Veins. Here we'll explore the interior lagoon by dinghy, and then stop at its heavenly beach, where you can have a walk, swim and do snorkeling to observe beautiful corals and starfish. Then back to the boat we'll have lunch prepared with local products (different dietary options available). After we'll sail for 20 minutes to get to our next stop: Playa Blanca, a white-sand beach named after the pirate, since he died not very far from there. Here its crystal clear water and corals make it the perfect spot for snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, and paddle-boarding. From there we'll sail back to Portobelo and take you back to the city. If you easily get seasick, you can bring along some preventive meds and will also give you tips on how to feel better. Don't miss the chance to sail to remote spots and make new international friends.

Urban jungle hike, empanadas and coffee
Our day will start in Via Argentina, a hip neighborhood in the city center. We will start at an independent coffee shop to have empanadas and Panamanian coffee (or another beverage if you don't drink coffee) so that we are energized for the day. From here we will walk to the metro station and take it to the closest point to where we will begin our urban jungle hike. We will walk down Avenida Central, a lively pedestrian street where you’ll get to see the real Panama. During our walk the chaos of Panama City will slowly end and transition into tropical jungle scenery. We will be ascending up to the highest natural point in Panama City, enjoying stunning city views while sometimes spotting sloths, monkeys, toucans, and other wildlife until we reach the top. During our journey, you will also learn why this was an area that Panamanians were once not allowed to enter and how they were finally able to step foot back into their own land. From the top, you’ll see a 360-degree view of the skyscrapers, ocean, and Panama Canal. The walk from the metro station to the top of the hill and back down is approximately 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) so we’ll be getting our steps in for the day!
