Long term stays, hotels and motels are exempt from registering as short-term rentals. If your listing is exempt, you don’t need to register, but you will still need to claim an exemption through Airbnb to keep hosting.

Step 1: Get a short-term residential rental registration number

Start the registration process on the County’s website

Complete the Short Term Residential Rental Registration form and print out the form. Do not sign the form yet. You will need to take the form to a notary, where you will sign the form and receive the Notary’s signature and seal.

On January 26, 2021, an emergency ordinance went into effect reducing the fee to register or renew a short-term residential rental from $400.00 to $100.00 for a two-year term. The ordinance will remain in effect until the County terminates, repeals, or otherwise revokes it.
