Hideaway HillThe Hideaway is the classic Smoky Mountain cabin for you and your special someone. - We start by meeting under a covered pavilion to get checked in. After we give an informative overview and history of “Appalachia” wine/shine we will begin our tour. We will see working distilleries. You will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes and see exactly how their process works. Perfect for ADULT NIGHT out. Great couples/date night. After a short walk, we start off at an AMAZING distillery where we will taste a custom lineup just for us! At our next location we will get a true VIP experience at our favorite winery. - ***More Than Just A Hike - This Is A Gratitude Experience*** This is suitable for all levels, beginners to advanced. We're going to ditch the crowds and traffic and head out for a waterfall hike off the beaten path in the Smoky Mountains! ***Please note: Booking Private Groups Only. If you request a date, please select Private Group.*** This trail features several excellent waterfalls and cascades and is arguably one of the best waterfall hikes in the national park. We'll be unplugged, free from the distractions of our phones. This hike also includes gratitude, so please bring a positive attitude! We'll start the hike with gratitude so we can be in the right frame of mind. We'll play some other gratitude games using a deck of cards called The Grateful Deck that contain fun questions that remind us to be grateful and positive. There is a place along the trail to stop and sit by the waterfalls, while playing the Grateful Game. Since there are no phones on this hike, I'll take pics. - Participants will have small classes teaching them how to use their personal cameras. I will meet with individuals or a group smaller that 6 participants and take them on a hands on photo safari in the Smoky Mountains while teaching them how to operate their camera. Class time runs about 1.5 hrs then we break for lunch at a delicious local BBQ house. The safari will last 1.5 hours. It will begin with an overall class of how camera operations interact. Basically how to come away from auto setting and get the best images by using camera controls. We then practice camera operations. After that, we hit the road (trails) to photograph the best souvenirs - their own personal photo creations. They take home new knowledge, personal images, and a new appreciation for the art of photography. I also offer stays at our Airbnb as an option. It was the first resort in Sevier County in 1884. The original cabin that remains is located on Historic Seaton Springs 11 acres. A cantilever barn built during that time, a log structure, babbling creek, and a small lake also occupy the private farm. Looking for family portraits in the Smokies? I can help! - We will meet at Keith's house in Pittman Center, have a quick orientation to the area and birding, and then head out on foot to explore the community of Emerts Cove, a section of Pittman Center, one of the richest bird areas in this part of Sevier County. We might elect to drive a short distance to a local pond and horse pasture which are often very rich in bird life. But for the most part, we'll walk for about 2.5 hours, maybe a bit more, and explore the wooded areas, forest edges, tree and hedgerows and grassy and weedy fields for a variety of bird life. Spring and summer are always better because migrant birds have returned from their wintering grounds to breed in this area and bird song is much richer. But autumn and winter are still great times to explore the bird life in Emerts Cove. During our walk, we can talk about rich history of Emerts Cove and Pittman Center as well as the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. FALL Songbird migration is a great time to look for migrants and winter birds from the NORTH are moving in! Spring and Summer bring early migrants and breeding birds. There is always an abundant richness of bird life in the area! After we have explored the area for about 2.5 - 3 hours, we'll return to Keith's home and depart. Other things to note We will walk rain or shine, cold or warm, unless it's pouring and we'll try to reschedule. Wear appropriate weather and climate gear.
