We’ll meet virtually in my kitchen and yours to make Mexican Salsas together. You’ll learn to cook salsas in three traditional ways: roasted, raw, and fried. Each preparation is different in technique, personality, flavor, and spice level but they’re ALL delicious and special! Throughout the experience you’ll receive hands-on instructions while you taste-test all the salsa you can handle. You’ll be very surprised by how easy (and fun!) it is to cook salsas at home. When we’re done you’ll have recipes to revisit whenever you’re craving salsa.

  • Chile, If possible 3 varieties: Dry red chile, Fresh Habanero, Jalapeño or Serrano on any presentation (fresh, dry, can)
  • 3 red tomatoes
  • 2 green tomatillo (optional)
  • 1 Sweet Fruit like mango, pineapple, peach, strawberry, papaya, melon. (optional)

Greetings from Ciudad de México! I'm a Mexican cook with a lifetime passion for food, especially anything hot and spicy. I studied at the National School of Mexican Gastronomy and had the opportunity to live throughout Mexico - from north to south and coast to coast. As someone who believes that food brings people together and transcends language, I love preparing and sharing meals with people from all over.

Over the past 2 years I've welcomed hundreds of guests into my kitchen in Mexico City.

My salsa experience was included in BuzzFeed's "20 of the Best Airbnb Experiences in Latin America." I've also been featured in the L.A. Times and Hoy Los Ángeles.

Simple fantastic! Such a fun experience with Natalia and Jaz. Learned how to make three delicious salsas and they made sure it was easy to follow. They introduced us to authentic Mexican recipes that I will definitely be making again and again. Next time I am in Mexico City I am definitely doing an in person class this online experience was so good.

Great class! I've done other online cooking classes, and this was by far the warmest and most fun. Which doesn't mean silly--I learned techniques I'd never had explained before, and now I know how to ask for a tomato (not a tomatillo) next time I'm in a market in Mexico City. Loved the music, loved all the cheerful plants in Natalia's home, loved her big smile. I would take any of her classes again in a heartbeat.

I reserved a private salsa making a salsa class for my mom's 65th birthday. We invited 12 of my moms friends to join the class so they could do it as a group. Natalia was great about communicating and getting back about the times. Natalia and the class as a whole exceeded expectations. Not only was it extremely informative and authentic it was filled with so much humor and music. Natalia is so personable and you can tell this isn't her first rodeo, she knows how to expertly lead a class. The salsas we made were so tasty and the experience was worth every penny. I highly recommend this class. Our final products were colorful and delicious. Natalia provided a fun experience for people of all cooking abilities. I took this class with my partner — he’s a great cook and me, not so much, but we both learned a lot of new tips about cooking from Natalia. She was also very patient with us and checked in on the steps at a comfortable pace.
